Read the story of Fabiana Magro, our Planning Specialist, who recently starred in an effort to raise awareness of sustainability practices among colleagues.

Ciao Fabiana, tell us something about you!

Hi! I'm Fabiana, I'm 49 years old and I've been part of the Framis world for 3.

Since I was a little girl I have had a strong sensibility towards the world we live in, an unconditional love for nature, both vegetal and animal, which has led me to try to lead (360° coherence is always very difficult to pursue in this context) a life with as little impact on the planet as possible, both in what I produce in terms of waste, and in what I consume.

All this translates into paying attention to the actions that I take, that we all take, every day: in the proper waste sorting, in the lowest possible use of plastic (it is recent news that, for the first time, traces of microplastics have been found in the human body!), in the use of the car only when strictly necessary, in keeping the heating at a moderate temperature etc...

I have been a vegetarian for 32 years now, both for love of the animal world and for opposition to intensive farming with all that it entails in terms of ecological impact.

Words like eco-friendly, recycled, sustainable, eco-responsible, biodegradable are now part of our everyday vocabulary. But, in a nutshell, what does being "sustainable" mean to you?

Being sustainable means leaving the Earth unaffected by our passage; if we were able to leave no trace we would be completely "sustainable"; it is clear that it is an impossible result to achieve, but I believe we must try to ensure that the traces we necessarily leave in the world are impacted in the least possible way, hence the importance of recycling, eco-responsibility, etc..

Do you think your voice can influence the your Company's approach to sustainability?

I think we should always try, and if even one person changes their habits based on what we do, it will be a battle won.

Sometimes we behave in a certain way out of habit, because we don't stop to think about the consequence of our actions; sometimes we just need someone to point it out to make us think.

You've recently been involved in raising awareness among your colleagues about proper recycling. How did it go?

I didn't do anything extraordinary, except to ask Francesca Salotto, our CEO, to try to increase the awareness of our colleagues on the correct waste disposal, since every day I noticed that the plastic containers in which our lunch is delivered were mainly disposed of in the undifferentiated waste, thus preventing the recycling process; As a result of this work of sensibilization, which has already given excellent results, the property has made an important investment by purchasing reusable containers to replace the disposable ones; I have taken care of organizing the various steps with the suppliers involved, until finalizing this important action.

To date, I'd say it's gone very well! This is proven by the lower quantity of plastic that circulates in the company, which translates into a low production of plastic waste.

The plastic waste container is empty or almost empty every day, a great goal of eco-responsibility achieved by our company, made possible thanks to the owners, who have always been very interested in this topic.

Thanks for sharing this great initiative with us!

We should all strive to be the drop that makes the sea big, I truly believe in this.
